Olympic aero helmets are engineered to the millimetre, weight should be too.

At the highest level of cycling, aero helmets are no longer just protective equipment.

They are precision aerodynamic structures.

Every gram matters, particularly weight carried high on the body, where it affects balance, fatigue, and repeatability. Core materials play a quiet but critical role in this.

Traditional honeycomb cores have long been used to provide stiffness, but they also bring additional mass and resin content that must be managed carefully.

Rohacell® PMI structural foam offers a cleaner solution.

As a closed-cell, high-performance composite core, ROHACELL® enables:

• Very high stiffness at low density

• Lower resin uptake

• Excellent machinable accuracy

• Thermoformable into complex shapes

The result is a lighter, more precisely balanced aero helmet, achieved not by adding complexity, but by removing unnecessary material.
