Gurit has signed a long-term supply agreement with a leading wind turbine manufacturer. Over the next five years, the Swiss group will supply its customer with its wind energy core material kits based on its OptiCore technology.
Gurit delivers core kits streamlining blade manufacturing, with the aim of reducing weight, resin consumption and production costs for customers.
This contract represents an important milestone for Gurit, as it is the first major contract related to this technology. The agreement is expected to generate approximately CHF 250 million (US$312.4 million) in net sales for Gurit over the entire period, subject to the OEM’s demand situation. The contract includes volume commitments for both offshore and onshore platforms in several regions.
“This major new long-term contract underscores our strong global market position and the enduring partnership we have built with strategic customers. It reflects the confidence in Gurit’s innovative solutions and our ability to deliver value over time. With our global footprint, we serve customers in all key markets while optimising capacity and driving efficiency. We are proud to support the renewable energy industry and contribute to its continued growth,” says Tobias Lührig, Gurit Group CEO.
