Borealis and Borouge Launch Global Brand for Mechanically Recycled Polyolefins

Borealis and Borouge have unveiled Recleo, a new global brand designed to streamline access to mechanically #recycledpolyolefins (PO) for a range of applications. The Recleo portfolio consolidates post-industrial (#PIR) and post-consumer (#PCR) recyclates and compounds into a cost-effective and versatile material suited for #mobility, #building and #construction, #appliance, infrastructure, and consumer products, said the news release.

Recleo complements the Borcycle M portfolio of premium mechanically recycled polyolefins derived from post-consumer waste for demanding applications. Together, these brands deliver high-quality circular solutions tailored to diverse customer needs, said Borealis and Borouge.

Portfolio aligns with emerging EU regulations

Formulated from verified PIR and PCR plastic waste streams, grades in the Recleo portfolio help customers reduce their carbon footprints and meet ambitious sustainability targets as they transition to a circular economy. Additionally, the portfolio aligns with emerging regulatory requirements, such as the EU End-of-Life Vehicle Regulation (ELVR) and the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), said Borealis and Borouge. Many grades are RecyClass certified and adhere to the IATF 16949 quality management standard.

Recleo is available globally, backed by Borealis and Borouge’s extensive polymer expertise and global network. The brand ensures consistent quality and reliability across major markets, offering customers security of supply. Recleo is designed to integrate seamlessly with the companies’ virgin PO portfolio, enabling increased recycling content and enhanced circularity in consumer products. Recleo is compatible with various processing technologies, including film and other extrusion applications.

Global availability

#Borealis and #Borouge said that the launch of #Recleo reflects their shared commitment to reinventing essentials for sustainable living. By making recycled materials accessible to customers worldwide, the companies are driving the adoption of circular solutions and supporting the reduction of virgin feedstock use. Recleo’s introduction marks a significant step forward in meeting the growing demand for recycled content while ensuring quality, reliability, and compliance with sustainability targets, stressed the companies.
