Toray Industries, Inc., announced today that #TorayIndustries (India) Private Limited has decided to build a new production facility for #TORELINA™ at its site in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh.   This high-performance #polyphenylenesulfide (PPS) resin offers excellent heat and chemical resistance, mechanical strength, and flame retardancy. Annual production capacity will be around 3,000 metric tons.   Operations should start in early 2027 at what will be Toray’s first in-house PPS compound production line in India. Supplies of samples to customers will begin in April 2027, with full-fledged mass production starting as soon as possible.   Toray will augment nylon and polybutylene terephthalate resin compounds that it already makes in India by establishing an integrated in-house PPS resin compound production system. Envalior, a leading global manufacturer of sustainable and high-performance engineering materials, has developed #XytronTMM5080ET , a new PPS ( #PolyphenyleneSulfide (PPS) for overmolding and functionalizing busbars for #electricvehicles (EVs). The impact-modified compound is primarily designed for busbars that must withstand temperatures above 150°C while also being highly resistant to stress cracking during thermal shock. The material is a solution to rising temperatures in EV powertrains, driven by higher operating voltages, stronger currents & more compact assembly designs.
