The analysis which covers European chemicals companies involved with the Nature Action 100 and/or PRI Spring investor initiatives shows that all five assessed companies are members of large sector-specific industry associations that are actively opposing biodiversity policies, such as the European Chemical Industry Council (Cefic). Industry efforts appear to have been successful, repeating narratives raising economic and competitiveness concerns to push back on stronger chemical regulations. InfluenceMap finds that the industry has targeted: - The Registration, Evaluati...

Clariant, a sustainability-focused specialty chemical company, today announced that its catalysts had enabled significantly higher emission reductions in 2025 compared to the previous year. Avoided greenhouse gas emissions amounted to 45 million tons of CO2e, 5 million tons higher than in 2024. The emission reductions[1] were made possible by the company's innovative technologies, such as reforming catalysts for producing direct reduced iron (DRI) and nitrous oxide abatement catalysts for nitric acid plants, as well as syngas catalysts for producing green methanol either through electrolytic hydrogen from renewable electricity or from bio-feedstocks . Additionally, Clariant's catalysts for refinery off-gas purification contributed to these avoided #emissions, helping refineries and crude-to-chemical complexes reduce their environmental footprint. The #DRIprocess , as one example, has only half of the #CO2 intensity compared to conventional steel production. Jens Cuntze, Presi...

𝐁𝐀𝐒𝐅 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐡𝐨𝐭 𝐠𝐚𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 BASF has patented a novel #hotgaswelding process for plastics. The technology enables thermoplastic components – especially those made of #Ultramid® Advanced ( #polyphthalamide PPA) – to be welded significantly faster, more energy-efficiently and in a more material-friendly manner than with conventional hot gas welding processes. At the heart of the patented solution is a special tool design: the hot process gas is no longer blown onto the #weldingribs selectively from individual nozzles; instead, it is guided in a targeted manner along the welding ribs via channel-like structures. This ensures even gas distribution and minimizes heat losses. The welding ribs are plasticized more homogeneously without requiring high gas temperatures or very small nozzle distances. Short welding times and high strengths: “Tests on PPA specimens have shown that the patented process can produce durable w...

Launched from a site in the Black Rock Desert in northern Nevada, Daybreak successfully reached space and was fully recovered intact after re-entry. #Cambium delivered the custom product for this mission the rocket component known as a " #boattail ", an aerodynamic shroud for the #rocketnozzle two weeks after receiving specifications, with launch occurring four weeks later. Cambium's high-temperature materials protected the space craft while also enabling #USCRPL to extend the length of its payload bay, a critical design advancement that will expand the utility of this space carrier for futu...

India’s rail transformation is accelerating and KINECO is at the forefront of it. KINECO is proud to announce that its consolidated order book has crossed ₹3,000 crore, driven by the award of significant contracts from Indian #Railways and multiple private train builders for the design, engineering, and manufacture of interior systems across 100 Vande Bharat Sleeper trains. More than a revenue milestone, it is a statement about where Indian manufacturing capability now stands — and where KINECO intends to take it. The Vande Bharat Sleeper programme is one of the most consequential rail infrastructure undertakings in India’s history, and being entrusted with its interior systems reflects a depth of technical credibility built over two decades of continuous investment in people, process, and platform. “𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒇𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒇𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒄𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝑲𝑰𝑵𝑬𝑪𝑶’𝒔 𝒄𝒂𝒑𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒆𝒔.
