The old way was rigid and led to lives of boredom and restraint.
It worked for some people, but it didn't for many others.
However, people don't realise that's not the way it needs to be.
After all...
❌ Oracle have laid off 30,000 people this year.
❌ Amazon have eliminated 16,000 roles this year.
❌ Meta have announced job cuts of 8,000 this year.
Following the linear path no longer provides the security it used to.
Careers are not linear. I've learned this in my own career.
I did the degree, the internship at IBM, the 'failed' first job.
Backward steps and roundabout decisions...
To where I am now: Co-Founder of LeverBrands.
$2m ARR business in 2 years since launching.
Plus, a personal brand with 105k+ followers.
More and more career journeys are looking something like that.
I think my personal brand, not role, is what gives me defensibility.
However, you should do your research to find what fits you.
Here are a few options you can pursue:
1️⃣ Build your personal brand (no bias, promise).
↳ Show the world you can do something, and do it well.
↳ Commit to 30 days of posting, and snowball that momentum.

2️⃣ Build a side hustle.
↳ This is another low-risk option alongside your 9-5.
↳ Some ideas: ghostwriting, copywriting, AI consultancy, etc.
3️⃣ Treat your career as an experiment.
↳ More of a mindset shift, but still important.
↳ Go back to school if you want, leave that role after 3 months...
Do what's best for YOU.
Be loyal to your purpose, mission, or calling.
Look at the data. Job security has changed.
So, will you change your approach?
That, is in your hands.
