Since its Towpreg development in 2018, the company has established integrated capabilities across the entire value chain—from intermediate material manufacturing to structural design, analysis, filament winding, molding, and finished component production.

Kolon Spaceworks first applied its proprietary Towpreg to hydrogen storage tanks for mobility applications, gaining mass-production experience and validating its performance. The technology has since been extended to hydrogen module systems incorporating hydrogen storage vessels.

Building on its experience in hydrogen mobility, Kolon Spaceworks expanded the application of its Towpreg technology into the space industry. The company’s proprietary Towpreg has already been applied to key composite components of INNOSPACE’s HANBIT-TLV test launch vehicle. It is also planned for use in the pressure vessel of the SEBIT suborbital test vehicle, as well as the pressure vessel and combustion chamber of the HANBIT-Nano small satellite launch vehicle.

With the ability to accommodate a wide range of capacities and specifications—including 2L, 20L, 54L, and 177L configurations—Kolon Spaceworks is capable of providing customized solutions tailored to specific customer requirements.

From hydrogen storage tanks for mobility to critical components for space launch vehicles, Kolon Spaceworks continues to broaden the application of its proprietary Towpreg technology into the defense industry by combining proprietary Towpreg with integrated engineering and manufacturing capabilities.
