Why? Because fillers do more than occupy space.

Both are widely used mineral fillers.
Both can reduce formulation cost.
But their geometry is fundamentally different.
Calcium carbonate particles are typically more equiaxed and act mainly as space-filling particles.
Talc particles are plate-like structures with a high aspect ratio.
That difference changes how stress is transferred through the polymer matrix.
