Premier Graphene announced that its affiliate, #HGIIndustrialTechnologies, has entered into a strategic joint venture with Canada’s #NovaGraphene to develop, manufacture and commercialise next-generation #ballistic protection systems and other graphene-enabled products across North America.

The collaboration combines HGI’s proprietary #graphene production technology and advanced manufacturing capabilities with Nova Graphene’s expertise in graphene materials. Initial development efforts will focus on Level IIIA+ and Level IV personal ballistic protection plates, vehicle and marine armour, architectural protection systems and other advanced protective technologies.

According to the company, the agreement also complements HGI’s broader strategy of integrating graphene production with graphite mining opportunities and downstream manufacturing capabilities to support future applications across defence, aerospace, transportation, infrastructure and energy storage.

Why This Matters for Investors

The joint venture represents another step in Premier Graphene’s effort to move beyond raw material production and participate in higher-value advanced manufacturing markets. If successfully developed, graphene-enabled ballistic protection products could provide additional commercial opportunities within the defence sector.

The announcement also highlights the company’s long-term vertical integration strategy, combining raw material access, proprietary production technology and product development under a broader graphene platform.

However, the venture remains in the development stage. Future commercial success will depend on product development, regulatory approvals, required certifications and customer adoption. The company also noted that no assurance can be given regarding the timing of regulatory processes or commercial outcomes.
