๐Ÿ“ What Happened?

Maruti Suzuki has started commercial production at the fourth plant of its Hansalpur manufacturing facility in Gujarat.


The new Plant D adds 250,000 vehicles per year, taking the total Hansalpur facility capacity from 750,000 to 1 million vehicles annually.


⭐ Why This Facility Is Special

1️⃣ 1 Million Units at One Location

Hansalpur has become India's largest passenger-vehicle manufacturing facility at a single location and the first Suzuki manufacturing site globally to reach 1 million units of annual capacity.


2️⃣ EV Manufacturing

Plant D will initially manufacture the e VITARA, strengthening Maruti Suzuki's EV production capability in India.


3️⃣ Export Hub

The Hansalpur facility accounted for nearly 47% of Maruti Suzuki's overseas shipments in FY2025-26, making it an important part of the company's global manufacturing network.


4️⃣ Integrated Manufacturing Ecosystem

The 640-acre facility includes an integrated suppliers' park, supporting manufacturing and supply-chain integration around the plant.


5️⃣ Green Logistics

The facility has an in-plant railway siding that has dispatched more than 750,000 vehicles since dispatches began in March 2023, supporting a shift from road to rail logistics.

The plant will be part of Vioneo’s complex that, once complete, will be the world’s first industrial scale fossilfree plastics production complex.
