From Barcelona to Gujarat, Jordi Espinos went the extra mile, quite literally, to see how mulch films perform where it matters most: laid out in the field and exposed to the sun.


During his visit to a farm in Gujarat, western India, Jordi walked through fields where mulch films were laid out across the farm to better understand the local challenges film makers and farmers face in India’s demanding agricultural environment.

Nature created the first micro-gear long before any human engineering existed. One such example is the Issus coleoptratus (shown in the picture). Furthermore, only now are we reaching the point where injection-molded polymer microgears can approach this level of performance. Looking at the images, which one do you think is the natural gear, and which one is the molded version? It is not that easy to tell, right?
