When people think about multilayer packaging, they usually focus on the barrier layer—such as EVOH—or the outer PE layers.


But what keeps these very different materials bonded together?

The answer is often hidden from view: the tie layer.


Without a high-performance tie layer, multilayer structures can suffer from poor adhesion, reduced durability, and compromised performance. Tie layers play a critical role in ensuring strong bonding between incompatible polymers, helping manufacturers achieve reliable, long-lasting packaging solutions.
