Bamboo instead of carbon fiber

A drone with a body made of bamboo composite was successfully tested, being flown for the first time. The device is designed according to the VTOL scheme with rotating propellers and a fixed wing, reaching speeds of over 100 km/h and able to stay in flight for more than an hour. The use of bio-materials has reduced the weight of the structure by more than 20%, and the cost is almost four times lower compared to carbon fiber.
