Excessive consumption and mass production of clothing have led to alarming textile waste accumulation in ecosystems, causing serious environmental problems. Something as common as a T-shirt or a jacket is made up of multiple components: fabrics, threads, zippers, elastics, buttons, fillings, and dyes. This variety of materials makes recycling a complex and often inefficient process.
A viable alternative is to promote the second use of garments — reusing, repairing, and repurposing can be effective strategies to reduce the amount of clothing ending up in landfills. Every small action counts toward more responsible consumption and a future with less waste and more reuse. ๐ฑ
