New Omnix® material helps manufacturers create more reliable, affordable sanitary products for the growing market

#Syensqo has launched #Omnix®DW-4650, a new resin designed to make sanitary fittings safer, tougher, and more cost-effective. As demand rises for modern #showers and #faucets, manufacturers are looking for alternatives to metal parts that can lower costs and improve performance. Omnix® DW-4650 meets this need by offering strong resistance to #freezing and #cracking, even in very cold temperatures.

Omnix® DW-4650 is a high-performance #polyamide compound engineered to deliver superior freeze resistance, mechanical strength, and long-term durability. The material passes 5–6 freeze-thaw cycles at −5°C under internal water pressure outperforming conventional plastics and exceeding customer specifications. It retains exceptional toughness after 1,500 hours of hydrolytic aging at 60°C, ensuring reliable performance throughout the product lifecycle. The grade also meets all critical mechanical requirements for thermostatic valve bodies, including burst pressure, assembly torque, and metal insert retention, while being NSF 61 certified for #drinkingwater contact applications.
