Masterbatches play a critical role in the performance engineering of thermoplastic compounds.

From a technical perspective, a masterbatch is a concentrated system of pigments, fillers, or functional additives dispersed in a polymer carrier resin, designed to be incorporated into a base polymer during processing.

Its main purpose is to ensure accurate dosing, improved dispersion, and better process consistency compared to direct raw additive incorporation.

The technical value of a masterbatch is directly linked to three key factors:

1. Dispersion quality

2. Carrier resin compatibility

3. Additive stability during processing

Thermoplastics would not exist without proper additivation!
