Unlike conventional EVA chemical foaming, ETPU is produced through a supercritical physical foaming process using CO₂ or N₂. This allows the material to deliver stronger compression set resistance, better elastic recovery, and a cleaner processing route without chemical blowing-agent residues. In performance terms, ETPU occupies an important middle ground in the midsole market.
